Why King James version
The Authorized King James Version popularly known as the King James Version continues to be the most popular, bestselling, and distributed book ever since it was first published in 1611.Though many versions (translations from the original texts) of the Bible were made in the second half of the 20th century, none of them have overtaken the popularity of the King James Version. The greatest aspect of the King James Version is that the fundamental truths of the Word of God have not been changed or compromised in the 400 years of its existence. The great discipline of fasting prayer has remained unchanged in the New Testament of the King James Version while it has disappeared in many newer versions. On that count alone, the King James Version became the natural choice of text for the Christian Walk Bible.
Why the Christian Walk Bible?
Many who read the Word of God stumble in their Christian walk because they fail to understand and apply the Word of God appropriately. The Holy Spirit led Philip to the Ethiopian who was reading from the prophecy of Isaiah because the Ethiopian did not understand what he was reading and there was nobody to explain it to him (Acts 8:30,31).

Similarly, millions of Christians plunge into sin because Biblical truths and principles are diluted and distorted by false teachings and heresies thus destroying their holiness. In such circumstances, the Holy Spirit inspires servants of God, from time to time, to lead the children of God in truth, to holiness with more and more expositions of the Word of God. The Christian Walk Bible is designed under the inspiration and guidance of the Holy Spirit to lead us to a life of holiness through fasting prayer, and to enlighten, encourage and empower our walk with Christ.
Did God Command to Fast?
Yes indeed! God specifically commanded His people to ‘afflict their souls’ from the ninth to the tenth day of the seventh month with the abstinence from food for the atonement of their sins. They had to gather together and observe it as a Sabbath and it was instituted as a ‘statute forever’ (Lev. 16:24-34). This was a 24 hour fast for the people to repent and regain their holiness. All doubt about God’s command to fast is removed when God exhorts His people in Joel 1:14, 2:12, and 2:15, to “Sanctify a fast” and to return to Him with weeping, mourning, and repentance. God knew that humans were prone to sin by nature and commanded them to observe the discipline of fasting prayer to regain their lost holiness, through repentance.
